2024 was our biggest year yet. A major data milestone. New capabilities. And the momentum to carry us into our tenth year.

What We Shipped

10,000 employers milestone — We crossed 10,000 active employers in our dataset, a threshold we'd been working toward for years. More employers means more granular peer groups, more statistical confidence, and more value for every user.

Enhanced mental health benchmarking — As mental health parity requirements evolved, we added deeper tracking of mental health benefits—EAP visits, therapy coverage, telehealth mental health access, and more.

Transparency data integration — Price transparency regulations created new data sources. We began integrating this information to enrich our benchmarking with cost context where available.

The 10K Milestone

Reaching 10,000 employers wasn't just a vanity metric. It fundamentally improved what we can offer:

More granular peer groups — With 10,000 employers, you can filter by industry AND state AND size and still have meaningful sample sizes. The comparisons are more relevant than ever.

Better statistical confidence — Larger samples mean tighter confidence intervals. When we say "the median deductible is $2,500," you can trust that number.

Richer trend data — We can now track year-over-year changes with enough volume to spot meaningful patterns, not just noise.

AI and Benefits

Everyone asked about AI this year. How will it change benefits administration? Will it replace consultants? Should employers be worried?

Our view: AI will make data more accessible, not less important. The value of verified, trusted benchmarking data only increases when everyone has access to generic AI-generated content. What AI can't do is validate a plan document, confirm an employer's actual contribution strategy, or build a dataset through years of trusted relationships.

We're exploring AI-powered features, but always in service of making our verified data more useful—not replacing it with generated guesses.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Next year, Bnchmrk turns 10. We'll celebrate the milestone while shipping our most ambitious roadmap yet:

  • Plan Scoring—a single competitiveness score for any benefits plan
  • Contribution Modeling—scenario planning for contribution strategies
  • Expanded stop-loss benchmarking with new data points
